This is the largest museum in the country of Albania, and holds all of its archaeological treasures. Gives a great view of the nation’s history from ancient Illyria to the post-communist era.
Located in Krujë Castle, the museum is dedicated to a national hero of Albania, George Kastrioti Skanderbeg. Great stop for anyone studying the 1400s, Skanderbeg himself, or simply want to get away from some of the busier places around Albania.
In the center of Tiranë, is the Et`hem Bey Mosque, the place to visit for a piece of a religion and culture to experience. The Mosque is full of history and tradition; women may be provided with scarves for entrance. There may also be a doorman.
Phone: The Grand Park is a nice little getaway from the city. Nature trails and paved pathways greet you, and randomly throughout the park are little spots for refreshments and a sit down.

The Skanderberg Statue symbolizes a type of character many Albanian people look up to and strive to imitate. Skanderbeg was very influential in Albanian history, and thus a monument was raised in his name.
At the center of Tiranë is the city square. There have been many plans and reconstruction planned, but the major developments were extension of the square, and the construction of the Skanderbeg monument. There are some nice views of the surrounding city and architecture, such as the mosque from the square.
Near the Et’hem Bay Mosque, a clock tower by the same Haxhi Et’hem Bey, was constructed. A spiral staircase of 90 steps go upwards and gives a great view of the surrounding architecture and the city. The tower itself is also a great example, given its many renovations after World War II and over the last several decades.
The stretch of pavement that makes up Rruga Murat Toptani is a long peaceful walk, lined with trees and benches. Vendors tend to set up here, but the street has a lot more potential.
